The Anglican Parish of Goondiwindi welcomes those who come for Baptism (Christening), Marriage, and Funerals. These are critical and sacred human milestones.

All those who come to the parish will be met with warmth and welcome. It is an honour and privilege for us to journey with you. Baptisms

We love baptisms! The baptism service symbolises the cleansing work of Jesus Christ in their lives and their welcome into the family of God.

If a baby is being baptised, the parents promise before God to raise their child to know and follow Jesus Christ.

If an adult is being baptised, they make those promises for themselves and will be confirmed following their baptism.

There is no fee for a baptism conducted during a regular church service. It is a privilege and a pleasure for us to be able to offer this sacrament. If you wish, however, to make a donation, you may put it in the offering plate or give it to the priest who takes your baptism service. Alternatively you are welcome to donate here.

Weddings

The interior of Holy Trinity Church, Goondiwindi

Holy Trinity Church in Goondiwindi is a unique and beautiful setting for weddings. It is a place of spiritual importance in the life of the community for close to 150 years.

The church seats 120 people comfortably, has modern sound equipment and the capacity for visual display using large LED screens. The space is air conditioned and wheel-chair accessible.

For over 170 years couples have exchanged their wedding vows in our Parish’s churches in the presence of family, friends and God as they seek His blessing upon their lives together.

It is our delight to be able to solemnise holy matrimony through a Christian service in accordance with the liturgy and practice of the Anglican Church of Australia. You do not have to be a member of the church for a marriage service to be held at our churches.

Funerals

Jesus said, "I am the Resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will not perish but have eternal life"

A Christian funeral marks the ending of a human life, and places this in the context of God's loving presence with us as we grieve. A funeral is time of both celebration of the life of a loved one, and a time of mourning for the loss of someone we dearly love. Goondiwindi Parish offers an Anglican funeral service in our churches or funeral home or crematorium chapel. We consider it a great privilege to journey with families through the experience of grief and loss.
